September Competition - After Dark
Congratulations to Hannah on winning last months comp, and choosing a great theme for this month. Use your imagination and creativity to show what after dark means to you. Hannah has requested that you include aperture, ISO, and shutter speed and use minimal post production editing - salt and pepper, no gravy.
Please get your images up early so you don't forget or run out of time at the end of the month. Remember you can change your image up until the 25th if you take a better one. Good luck.

The famous Staircase to the Moon, a phenomen in Broome, WA when the moon rises over the horizon with a low tide, the mudflats causing the staircase part. Its a pretty bad photo sorry but I don't have a tripod and live out of a suitcase
ISO 3200, F5.0, 300mm Lens

Trinity1's entry:
"Candle Light"
This photo took me back to many fantastic childhood memories of staying at the "The Family Bach" in Arthurs Pass and the great outdoors of tramping to cold and dingy but the candles always bought light, and a good game of cards with a hot cuppa.
ISO 800, f8, 1/15sec at 135mm.

So hard not to photoshop the collar out! However I did sharpen a little and add a slight vignette. Hope that's okay. Canon 7D, 1/160, f7.1, ISO 160, studio lighting (but it was dark outside!).
Kaiwharawhara After Dark
So - I did manage to get out and get another after dark shot.
A bit more interesting than the moon on it's own.
Had expected to use longer exposure time but the moon added a lot to the ambient light - must have more of a play with reducing the aperture next time and increasing the blur of the car lights.
Taken from Barnard St in Kaiwharawhara looking towards the Hutt.
f/3.5  ~  ISO.3200  ~  1.0s  ~   18mm  ~  +1 EV

Darn darn darn! I missed the cut off for voting My vote would not have changed the winner though. So, how do we deal with a tie?

Re: September Competition - After Dark
My vote would've been for Trinity1, but if we NEED a casting vote I would (just) give it to Dragon28.
Perhaps we need a ruling to deal with this in the future. Maybe the earliest entry of the tied shots (just for simplicity) ?
